Vintage Patio Chairs!!

I finally got the time to paint my Vintage patio chairs! If you remember I found them. They were on the curb to be picked up. Here is a picture of them when I found them.

I had to sand them down. Which I'm not the best at. But I tried to get them smooth.

Then I covered out back the ground with a plastic tarp. I turned them upside down and painted the back and bottom first. I decided to use a happy apple green.

I turned them right side up and sprayed painted the seat and back and arms.

I let them dry overnite. I spray painted the tubeing white. It was hard to do and I tried to mask off the green.

I had to turn them upside down to paint the bottoms. It was super hard not to get white on green. And I am no expert!!! But I'm happy with how it went.

Then Waa Laa they were done!!! I'm real happy with how they turned out.

Remember don't be afraid of great color!!!

Headboard or Art?

I've been going back an forth in my mind.....Do I want a headboard on my bed or a cool piece of art. When ever I'm looking at pictures or out shopping, I try and find ideas. Hum? Couldn't seem to find a painting with the right colors. In fact I was almost thinking of painting something myself. (Oh dear that's a scary thought). Then I was shopping at my favorite store Ross (of course). And there she was!!!! I still had questions in my mind. So I wandered over to Kohls. There she was again!!! At twice the price!!!! Of course I still wasn't sure.

I went home to think about it. And think, and think. Ok, after work I new I needed her. I went to my more local Ross and YEAH she was still there. I like the crystal's on this piece. They will go with my "S" that I just crafted. Since I'm going for a more girly look, it will fit right in. The mirror in the middle is bevealed also. I love it!! In case your not sure......The white is the cardboard box it is in.

Now which color should I paint the walls?? Tan or light grey blue?? Which do you think would look good behind my new art?

Of course Buddy had to have a look at himself in the mirror!!

With a Captial "S"

My latest interesting web site is Pinterest. I kept seeing these letters covered in buttons and corks. So I thought I would make one for my bedroom. It took me a while to find the right size I wanted. But found one at Joanne's Fabrics. So here it is while painting it blue.


It was a little bright. So I added some black paint and calmed it down. Then I started adding the bling!!!

I covered every inch. Exept the back. I'm going to stand it on my nightstand.
I plan on painting my furniture black. Here is the finished "S". It took me quite a white. (And a few glue gun burns on the fingers).



While I was doing the "S" I started replacing my kitchen faucet. What a pain in the rear end. Living in a mobile home, well lets just say Nothing is normal size. After shutting down the water to the house. I removed the old faucet. I know now why I don't do plumbing much. Crawling under the sink......kills the back!!!

I would love a new sink. But of course that's a weird size too. And I'm not going to attempt that one on my own. After installing the new faucet. I was super pleased. Except of course it leaked a little underneath. GRRRRRRRR!! So I had to take it all apart again. Shutting off and on the water to the house. I need flex hoses under the sink. My house is so old 1966. All the piping is copper tubes. And they don't like to be messed with much. So anyways after the second try it seems to be ok. Until I can get flex hoses and then my son!! (thank you Jesus) will help me. Let's just say I said a few prayers though this project!!
And what was Buddy doing the whole time??? Like always, resting.

Beautiful Cool Day

To day I awoke to sunshine. Yesterday was cloudy and grey all day. I'm so happy on my day off that it is beautiful out. This was the first day in a while that I didn't need to rush out and do anything. Woo Hoo!! So after eating breakfast and cutting some coupons, I decided to go on a bike ride. I love my beach cruiser!! She's a beauty!


So off I rode down the street. The cool breeze blowing in my hair. I rounded the corner and decided to pay one of my neighbors a visit. He decided to ride along. And off we started again. Waving at neighbors and stopping to say a friendly hello. As we came to the last street. I saw "them". Two beautiful vintage metal chairs. Out on the curb for large item pick up. Our trash company will pick up large items once in a while.



I went up to the homes front door and knocked. But no one was home. I wanted to be sure it was ok that I took them. Soon after that, here comes the junk truck. They didn't mind at all if we picked them up. Woo Hoo!!!

I love them. A little TLC and they will look great. There is nothing wrong with them, but a little rust and dirt. My son wasn't as happy with my find. But I think they are just not his style. And he hasn't seen them after I clean them and paint them.

Any suggestions on colors?? Maybe a Apple Green????

After my find. My son and his new fiance and I went out to lunch. We visited a little shop and Melanie got these crazy glasses. With a built-in mustache. She's so funny!!! She is going to pull them out at her next work meeting. hahaha

Bedroom Redo

It's been a while since I've written. Boy, I need to get back to blogging. I love it. Well, at Christmas time both of my grown children got engaged. This means I will be getting my master bedroom back. (In about a year lol) So I decided that I wanted a whole new look. Something cool and relaxing. My plan is to paint my old furniture black. Then use cool blue, silver, white and beige. Can you believe it? No green!! I still love love love green. But I want to try something different.

Here are some of the deals I got so far!!!



I had seen this vase at Ross. And went back to see if they still had it. Guess what!! It was on sale too!! Then I found these great silver candle sticks.




After looking around some more I found this comforter set. It was on sale for $16.99!!! Can you believe it??? It's a seven piece set!



My sister and I had found this lamp base at Target. Normally $54.00 on sale for $37.99 plus I had gift cards!!



So now I just need a lamp shade and paint. Not sure what color to do the walls. Either the pale blue or beige. And what color candles to get. Oh, gosh I will need some art!!!! Any suggestions about what to paint or curtain ideas????? Please let me know.

Well, it should keep me busy all year while I wait for the weddings and my room back.
I think this will all be off limits to Buddy the cat!!

Happy Birthday Dancing in the Dark!

I can finally show the lap throw that I've been working on. It was for my Sister's Birthday. I love the colors!!!
We had a great day together. Lunch was a yummy Mexican place. The day was beautiful. Of course it warms up right when I give her a blanket. Oh well, I think she had a good Birthday. Love ya sissy.

Buddy has aways loved to go on the computer with me. I think he likes Frontierville!
So if my Frontierville looks a little off. It's because Buddy is playing it.
Gotta love him.
