Happy October and Fall Season!
I love Fall!!! The cool weather can't come too soon. No more frizzy hair!
I love all the wonderful sents of fall also. Cinnamon and spice, Pumpkin, and Apple.
I got out all my Halloween and Fall goodies and did some decorating!
Everthing turned out cozy and warm. What do you think?
This is my kitchen bar. I love the green leaves placemats. My turkey plate
was a Walmart find.
I like lots of leaves and pumpkins. Nothing too scary. Then it can carry over into
Thanksgiving time.
Here is the living room. Got out the bright green spider blanket and pillow. They
will go right after Halloween.
I like to drape the leaf garland over my intertainment center. I have tweaked things
a bit more and added some cool lanterns that I picked up. All flowers and leaves
are silk.
Enjoy the season and always with great color!!

Lovely Day!!
I woke up this morning to the most lovely day. Just had to get outside. Even though I had lots of house cleaning to do.
I couldn't resist taking pictures of all my roses and flowers in bloom. Mother nature is busting out all over. The birds
are all out building nests.
Buddy was pretty excited to get outside also. He sure did want those birds.
Look how big my hydrangea is! It's full of buds. Can't wait till it starts to bloom!!
There is something so calming about working in the yard. Getting your hands muddy and watering. The patio just felt great. Here is another picture of my old bread rack that I spray painted.
I can't really sit out on my front bench now that the ground cover has taken it over. But I haven't had the heart to trim it all back. I guess I should. What do you think?
Later in the day I BBQ'd. All the neighbor's were out enjoying the lovely evening.
And always with great color!!

Bread Rack Redo!!
So today was finally sunny and beautiful enough to work on my Bread Rack - Potting Rack.
I had gone to Home Depot and picked up Rubbed Bronze spray paint. Also some new flowers.
After cleaning off the Bread Rack. Which was a charming brass and hunter green. Blah!
I started the painting.
What a difference the paint made. It looks like a rod-iron piece now. I love it.
I placed it near the enterance of my home. I'm still playing with placement of
old things I had already. I also still need more plants or flowers. But it feels
like a whole new piece. I like the bright green pots and silver can's with the daisy's!
So remember to not throw out some of your old piece's. Paint does wonders!!
And always with great color!!!

Headboard or Art?
I've been going back an forth in my mind.....Do I want a headboard on my bed or a cool piece of art. When ever I'm looking at pictures or out shopping, I try and find ideas. Hum? Couldn't seem to find a painting with the right colors. In fact I was almost thinking of painting something myself. (Oh dear that's a scary thought). Then I was shopping at my favorite store Ross (of course). And there she was!!!! I still had questions in my mind. So I wandered over to Kohls. There she was again!!! At twice the price!!!! Of course I still wasn't sure.
I went home to think about it. And think, and think. Ok, after work I new I needed her. I went to my more local Ross and YEAH she was still there. I like the crystal's on this piece. They will go with my "S" that I just crafted. Since I'm going for a more girly look, it will fit right in. The mirror in the middle is bevealed also. I love it!! In case your not sure......The white is the cardboard box it is in.
Now which color should I paint the walls?? Tan or light grey blue?? Which do you think would look good behind my new art?
Of course Buddy had to have a look at himself in the mirror!!
And always with great color!!

Beautiful Cool Day
To day I awoke to sunshine. Yesterday was cloudy and grey all day. I'm so happy on my day off that it is beautiful out. This was the first day in a while that I didn't need to rush out and do anything. Woo Hoo!! So after eating breakfast and cutting some coupons, I decided to go on a bike ride. I love my beach cruiser!! She's a beauty!

So off I rode down the street. The cool breeze blowing in my hair. I rounded the corner and decided to pay one of my neighbors a visit. He decided to ride along. And off we started again. Waving at neighbors and stopping to say a friendly hello. As we came to the last street. I saw "them". Two beautiful vintage metal chairs. Out on the curb for large item pick up. Our trash company will pick up large items once in a while.

I went up to the homes front door and knocked. But no one was home. I wanted to be sure it was ok that I took them. Soon after that, here comes the junk truck. They didn't mind at all if we picked them up. Woo Hoo!!!
I love them. A little TLC and they will look great. There is nothing wrong with them, but a little rust and dirt. My son wasn't as happy with my find. But I think they are just not his style. And he hasn't seen them after I clean them and paint them.
Any suggestions on colors?? Maybe a Apple Green????
After my find. My son and his new fiance and I went out to lunch. We visited a little shop and Melanie got these crazy glasses. With a built-in mustache. She's so funny!!! She is going to pull them out at her next work meeting. hahaha

Here is a picture of the happy couple.

Hope everyone has a beautiful, relaxing day. And always with great color!!!

Happy Birthday Dancing in the Dark!
I can finally show the lap throw that I've been working on. It was for my Sister's Birthday. I love the colors!!!
We had a great day together. Lunch was a yummy Mexican place. The day was beautiful. Of course it warms up right when I give her a blanket. Oh well, I think she had a good Birthday. Love ya sissy.
Buddy has aways loved to go on the computer with me. I think he likes Frontierville!
So if my Frontierville looks a little off. It's because Buddy is playing it.
Gotta love him.

Topiary!!!!
I love love love Topiary. But usually they run kind of high for my budget. I had these pots to my entry that I wanted something new in. And the dead Halloweenish plants weren't cutting it. So since my back was somewhat good today. I took off to Walmart. Not that I thought I could walk the whole store. But enough to pick up a few things. I think the drive over to Walmart hurt me more. UGH!!! Anywho, I walked into the nursery section and tah dah!!!!!! TOPIARY!!!! Woweee Soweee!!! I picked out two. After coming back home, they were my first project. It's been so beautiful lately. Warm for a November. So here is the finished picture.
So everyone have a good weekend. Get outside and take deep breaths of the beautiful day. And always with great color.

Poor hot Buddy!
Poor Buddy. He doesn't like this hot weather we are having! So he's back to taking his naps on the glass coffee table. I just had my hair cut for the summer. And I think I will have to get him a hair cut this summer also.
Latest decor idea. I had this large jar. I decided to fill is full of pasta. What do you think? I did have it full of fake limes. But I wanted a change. Now that I'm home more I've been cleaning out cupboards. Yes, finally got the kitchen cupboard cleaned. And the hall linen closet. That was not fun. How do we save so much stuff???
Garden update!
Look I have a strawberry!!
Now look at my bell pepper!!
It's getting bigger!! I just hope they don't overheat with this hot weather. It's crazy hot! Making my morning walks sweaty and uncomfortable. But I keep plowing along. Just have to eat more ice cream. Right?? I've doing lots of thinking about life and God's plan for me. I'm seeing that he takes me through some things to teach me patience. Also so I will appreciate when the good things come along. Whether they are people, jobs, home, gardens or almost anything. At least I am learning and growing as a person. Which even at my age I can still do! Love your family and friends, coworkers, and enemies. They are all a part in God's plan for you and me. And don't pass up the opportunities to tell people how special they are to you. Love you all. And always with great color!

Garden!
Today was beautiful. Warm but just cool enough that you wanted to spend the day outdoors. Since they didn't need me at work (again). That's another story. I had the thought to plant some veggies. My sister Carol had just planted two beautiful above ground planters. Her soil is like sand, mine is like stone. Hard Hard Hard. I had plenty of good size plant pots. From back in the day when we had billions of houseplants. Think I only have two now. lol So I set out to Home Depot for some plants. After I caulked my shower. UGH!! I hate caulking. But it was getting nasty and needed a redo. I feel good when I get these little projects that need to be done around the house finished.
So I got Red bell pepper, zucchini squash, crookneck squash, strawberry, and tomato plants. Here is the finished garden. Hope they grow. It's been ages since I've done this.
I also the other day replanted my flowers in this three teared planter.
Then I came outside and had lunch at the Bistro table. I had tried a new recipe. It's canned white chicken, Cranrasins, Celery, and nuts with mayo. Yum it was good.
And the whole time Buddy just laid in the living room chair and slept. What a life!!

Chair and Table Update
I thought long and hard last night and made up my mind. I'm going to leave the table and chairs off white. Honestly it sounded like too much work to change the stain. I can always change it later. I had enough fabric left to make a makeshift table scarf. My neighbor said I could put a white or lace tablecloth under it too. But for now I like it just like this. Love the great color!!

Good Shopping Trip
I'm all about a good buy. And good design. I decided I wanted to recover my dining room chair cushions. So I went shopping. I found this green fabric that I love! Kind of bright and cheery. I'm going through a green faze. I read where your primary color in your room should be 60 Percent. Like your walls. Then next color 30 percent and then last your pop of color 10 percent. And green is refreshing and nurturing to your whole well being. Green is the easiest color for all of us to live with. Use green when you want to make your home welcoming and gracious. These are my new Canisters that I picked up at Costco. I love them. I think they have a Tuscan feel.

Then I went into my bedroom to make it feel more like summer. I took off the darker green comforter and lighten it up. It feels good to me. lol

I have to share with you this cute jar I got. I like anything with a lid. I got this at Marshall's.
I also worked out on the patio decorating it some with new cushions. Now I'm pooped out and poor. But it was a great day.
Love ya all with great color!!

Changed it again
Curvy!
Ok, I was browsing around online and checking out table settings. Yes! I know some things weird interest me. But they were using all kinds of different objects and had some great ideas. So I have so many plates and place mats that I got the bug.
I had just some woven beige place mats. I replaced them with these chargers that I had. They add texture. They I picked my standard everyday green plates. Cause I have to have my pop of green! I would have placed a salad plate on top. But mine are green and it would be too much green so I just added a fancy set of mugs that I love. The lighter color kind of grounded it to the counter top. Then I looked for napkins. Flowered? No, too much with the flowers on the mugs. So I stuck to plain green ones. I had found a cute set of chicken (of course) napkin rings. I wanted to put them somewhere so I just set them on the plates. I changed out my glass fruit bowl for a iron one and Tah Dah! What do you think?? It's a nice change.

Not sure if you can see. But I have other pops of green in the kitchen also. I was thinking........ I think my style is curvy. Everything I like has curves to it. The curve of round glass, rod iron, a couch or chair back. I think it just adds to being cozy. As Modern style is more straight lines. They can be mixed. Why not? Style is whatever makes you feel comfort and peace. Mine is earth tones with pops of green. And with Buddy and kids. Gotta have peace!
